Artistic Renderings (black and white)

Oblique angle views drawn to show the yacht as modified. Line work with shading.

Artistic Renderings (color)

Views drawn and colored with various media to give a photo-realistic or artistic rendering. Hand line work, color wash or tinting, shading, or computer rendering is available.

Artistic Renderings (Color 3D Computer Model )

3-dimensional model of color-shaded walls, bulkheads, doors, etc. Requires Preliminary Design stage first.

Refit and New Construction Surveying

Includes surveying vessel to extent required by Owner to assist in developing refit or completion work list, or to assess quality of work performed. Also includes report listing observations, priority recommendations, and suggestions for improvements.

 

Preliminary Design (Refit)

Arrangement and Profile views drafted to scale from builders drawings or re created from yacht measurements and photos. Only major ergonomic dimensions shown to illuminate sizes of passageway, access, overall additions, etc. Suitable for study, decision making, and “ballpark” pricing, but not construction. Does not include obtaining pricing or managing bids.

 

Detailed Design (Refit)

Arrangements and Profiles as above, but additionally to include all dimensions, materials, specifications and details necessary for construction and fixed price contracting. Includes limited shipyard support (weekly visits to survey progress  and to provide guidance). Does not include obtaining pricing, managing bids, or continuous on-site quality assurance.

 

Preliminary Design (New Vessel Design)

Inboard and Outboard Arrangements and Profiles drafted to scale,  showing major ergonomic and overall dimensions. Weight, Speed/Power, Range, Fuel, Water, and Cargo (if any) estimates provided. Preliminary Specifications detailing Owner’s design requirements, construction materials and methods, major equipment items, system descriptions as required to obtain “ballpark” build pricing. Does not include obtaining pricing or managing bids.

 

Detailed Design (New Vessel Design)

Includes all Preliminary information above, plus all dimensions, materials, specifications, and details necessary for construction, regulatory authority approval (if any), and fixed price contracting. Includes limited shipyard support (weekly visits to survey progress and to provide guidance). Does not include obtaining pricing, managing bids, or continuous on-site quality assurance.

 

Obtain Pricing and Manage Bids

Includes providing as many packages of drawings, specifications, statements of work, and other technical support necessary to obtain comparable bids from multiple sources. Also includes assistance to Owner in analyzing technical competence of builders, assessing reality of prices, and analyzing what the bids may have left out.

 

Technical Problem Solving

Includes surveying extent of problem, analyzing causes, devising solutions, and  designing equipment, changes, and/or installations as necessary to make the  solution a reality. Included liaison with regulatory authorities as necessary to  obtain approval.

 

Research and Development Support

Includes performing engineering assessments, tests, trials, etc. on existing or developing technologies. Also includes providing report(s) suitable for  submittal to regulatory authorities, clients, or companies as an aid to product development.

 

Research and Development Management

Includes developing and implementing R & D plans to make a client’s ideas a reality.  Includes R&D Support above, plus involves the development of the technology itself.

 

Expert Witness Support and Testimony

Includes research of technical aspects of litigative problem, development of most feasible approaches to case, consultation in support of other expert witnesses, depositions, and court testimony.
